Yes, another new toy for the pups! Have to keep them entertained, you know?

Browser has really mastered the Buster Cube. This used to be Widget's toy, he could never figure out how to get the kibble out of it. But, he's a smart boy and now rattles the cube like a pro. Of course, it's loud and drive me nuts! But it's good for coordination and problem solving. I can tune it out most of the time, unless it gets on the tile floor.
Widget is doing fantastic after her surgery. Too good actually. She is feeling ZERO pain and has an unusual amount of energy (even for her!). I'm (sorta) managing to keep her quiet when she's home with me during the day, but at night when Browser comes home it's another story. She will NOT leave him alone. She wants to play so badly. I had him on leash so he wouldn't jump on her, but she kept jumping on him, racing around trying to get him to play, etc. It's been a real challenge!
So, the vet is prescribing some sedatives for her. If she can just rest in her crate or in my office, I think we'll survive the weekend (there is no doggy daycare until Tuesday since Monday is a holiday).
It was a stressful day for both of us I think
Got the call that all went well with Widget's surgery and went to pick her up at 6pm. She is so small and frail looking. She's sleeping most of the time (which is good). I have her e-collar off her at the moment while she sleeps on the rug next to where I'm working. I won't even suggest to her that she come up to my office. She hasn't eaten anything yet, nor wanted any water. I'm going to try some ice chips shortly.
I'm just so glad she's home.
Browser is too - but he is SO concerned! He's also miffed at us that he can't check her out. We've kept them completely apart. He can see her thru her crate door, but that's it.
Her surgery went fine. All of her pre-op blood work checked out good and her vitals all stayed stable during the procedure. Recovery will be a challenge. The first 4 days are important that she stay quiet. I don't think the vet appreciated that I laughed at that - but the other Dal owners reading this probably know why I laughed! He said if I need sedatives for her to call. I was going to argue that he just send them home now "in case" but figured I have to drive by the vet's office to bring Browser to daycare anyway so I can pick them up then. Browser will be going to daycare tomorrow and Friday. Unfortunately Monday is a holiday - which I didn't really think about when I scheduled her surgery - so no daycare that day for him.
Widget has some pain meds and I'm also giving her Arnica Montana (a homeopathic remedy that will help with the tissue swelling and soreness). Hopefully she'll be back on her spotted feet in no time.
I know it's a totally routine procedure, but she's my baby. Today Widget is being spayed. I hate that she has to go through it, but it's the responsible thing to do. I just worry about her so much. I should hear how she is around 2pm when she wakes up. She's scheduled for surgery around noon.
Browser misses her today. He's finally settling down a bit but this morning he kept looking around the yard for her. He'll be going to daycare tomorrow so she can be at home resting without the enticement to play. Won't be any swimming video for a couple of weeks - keeping her out of the pool will be a challenge!
Widget is ALMOST swimming. She's putting her front paws on the next step down in the pool and splashing a lot. She's SO close. I don't want to run in and get the camera and distract her - so no photos of her maiden voyage if it happens in the next few minutes.
Still can't get them swimming, but that doesn't stop them from having lots of fun with the pool.

Before we know it she'll be a year old!
Updates coming soon, I promise. Been so busy this month. Have photos and video to upload and stories to tell - just so little "freetime".
Oh he is growing up SO fast!
He's a good boy. My best buddy. He's lazy, but in a good way. Laid back is probably a nicer way to say it - but there is definitely some lazy in there!
His tummy problems persist, however. I just ordered some Probios for him (a probiotic powder to help his tummy) and am switching food brands AGAIN. I'm going off a recommendation from a very trusted source (hi Jess!) and will give Taste of the Wild a try. If he's not better tomorrow morning though I'm going to see if I can get him in to the vet just to once again make sure there isn't anything else wrong. Although I'm sure they think I'm some over protective mother at this point. Nothing ever shows up on his tests but I just don't feel he is as healthy as he should be. His activity levels are normal (he even outplayed Widget this morning!) but his poor tummy just isn't happy.
Browser will start conformation training next month.
